Nigel Cabourn examines Converse’s rich American heritage of boots and sneakers created for the outdoors and the military, and infuses his own designs the iconic Converse shoes with rich Ventile fabric uppers in military-inspired navy and olive green colors. The ventile fabric was developed for use in WWII flight suits as a material to protect pilots when they ejected from their planes into icy cold waters. Available from April here.

Great shoes deserves a great display. Sneakerology, a sneaker and lifestyle boutique in Sydney (Australia) has an amazing shoe-box display system for their sneaker store in Sydney. The wall consists of 200mm x 600mm plywood boxes which are systematically repeated. The display wall acts both as a display within the shop, and as the façade which interfaces with the mall. The shop floor is illuminated by the light emitted by the shoeboxes. Designed by Facet Studio. More here.
